Publisher Note
"I've always loved visiting other people's homes, not so much to see how people live their everyday lives, but to try to understand them better and [...] to be a part of their lives."
Sonia Lenzi is an Italian photographer living and working in Bologna and London. Her artistic practice takes an interdisciplinary approach and revolves around interrelated themes such as identity, the memories of people and places, mortality and gender.
For her latest project, Take Me to Live With YouLenzi photographed at home with elderly people in Italy. They act as parental role models who have specific cultural, political, and moral values to instill. Their attempt to preserve these values for future generations results in a kind of social family album in which places, objects, images and texts connected to these people communicate on their behalf.
