Publisher Note
Over the four years of the first Trump administration (2016-2020), Thiago Dezan traveled to different countries such as the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Cuba, Jamaica, Ecuador, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia and Haiti.
Depicting a set of revolutions, presenting us with a face of America that is not seen in the spotlight. A continent that still faces the same structural issues, the result of endless colonization.
It feels like a general study of the Americas during the reign of new despotism.
The photographs depict prisons, homelessness, police pressure, balaclava-lined military men, the petrified mummies of Guadalajara.
Also with this project Thiago Dezan followed his interest in unearthing personal accounts of suffering, despair and resilience.
