In their work, the Geneva artists Frédéric Moser and Philippe Schwinger combine influences of modern theatre with questions, techniques and strategies of contemporary art.
The publication focuses on the performance and film project “Capitulation Project”, which is based on the piece “Commune” by the New York “Performance Group”, who in 1971 referred to the My Lai massacre. The documentary traces the development of the complex installation and the resulting film, which subsequently becomes part of the spatial installations in exhibitions. The skilful combination of elements of theatre and plastic art makes “Capitulation Project” an impressive experience, which the publication conveys in atmospheric images.
