First issue

Publisher Note

The first issue, Feminisssmmm Vai Pure, takes its title from the workshop of the same name held by Maria Rosa Sossai in early 2019 at the Accademia diBelle Arti di Brera, in Milan, with the class taught by Donata Lazzarini, and at the Accademia Belle Arti in Verona, with the class taught by Giovanni Morbin. The starting point for the workshop was Carla Lonzi’s textVai pure, published in1980, in which the feminist theorist held a dialogue with her partner the artist Pietro Consagra. So the thematic core of the first issue (Feminisssmmm Vai Pure)is personal relationship, the possibility of its ending and ways of dealing with it, viewed from a gender perspective.

fuoriregistro is a joint curatorial and artistic project whose protagonists are people operating in institutions like schools, academies, hospitals and prisons, but who all too often have no voice or representation. The publication, bilingualItalian/English, investigates the relations that exist between education and contemporary art, considered central to the experiments that are being carried out and the current debate over the role of an art that wants to get away from a self-referential aesthetic and engage in a community-based work of criticism that will foster a climate of participation and shared creativity. Each issue, which will come out once a year, will have a different thematic and theoretical focus, rooted in real experiences and developments, with analyses and contributions from people in Italy and other countries. Each issue will be accompanied by a special edition of a limited number of copies, projects and artistic contributions
