Content Photographs for Documents consists of photographs taken by the father of Vytautas V. Stanionis (1949), who was also called Vytautas, and reprinted by author of the book. These photographs for documents, taken of the inhabitants of Seirijai and the surrounding area, were taken in 1946 when the Soviet authorities changed the passports to Soviet ones. Eighty faces stare straight out at the camera. Anonymous images that once served to prove the identity of a particular person now lose their identity, and become a kind of allegory or metaphor of the postwar destiny.
