Ulf Aminde’s (*1969) video pieces often center on the social context of microcultures at the edges of society. His works involve homeless people visiting the MoMA-exhibition at Neue Nationalgalerie, or punks playing musical chairs without following the rules. The concept of the show Ruhe und Ordnung (“Calmness and Order”) was a very special one: Aminde developed five intimate plays and a prolog which involve the setting and the surroundings of the exhibition space in the topic of its own discussion. He worked with people who usually are not in touch with the art scene and developed a performative event both at a stage for the individual and as an image for communities and group dynamics.
