The book reveals photographs taken in between 1985 – 1995 (last decade of the Communist regime in Lithuania), which where used as a visual material and inspiration for paintings. In the photographs, we find surreal Soviet-era surroundings. The constructive look of the author purifies the Soviet architectural landscape towards the symetric compositions and turns them into certain sculptural compositions. The introductions essay by philosopher Leonidas Donskis “Started and unfinished reality” fits few possibilities for interpretation. First, photographs are showing unfinished remains of the totalitarian system, and on the other hand, those sketches are becoming pieces of art in their own right.
