THE WORLD ACCORDING TO seeks to challenge an artist to work in an unfamiliar way: using any source other than his own work, he or she develops an idea, a concept, a subject or a vision which can only be realized on paper. On 64 blank pages, he creates a special project by collecting images, texts, graphs, and/or by inviting artists, friends, family-members to generate content and to contribute to it.

With a regard for the aesthetics and the conceptual practices of the 1960s and 1970s, Iñaki Bonillas’ (*1981) work is an investigation of photography, the photographic medium and the possibilities of the construction of the image. For the first issue of THE WORLD ACCORDING TO, he opens his personal library for us. From William Blake to Roberto Juarroz and Georg Christian Lichtenberg.

THE WORLD ACCORDING TO fordert Künstler heraus, auf eine ungewohnte Art und Weise zu arbeiten: es darf jede Quelle außer der eigenen Arbeit genutzt werden, eine Idee, ein Konzept, ein Thema oder eine Vision entwickelt werden, die nur auf Papier realisiert werden kann. Auf 64 leeren Seiten soll ein besonderes Projekt kreiert werden, indem der/die Künstler/in Bilder, Texte, Graphen sammelt und oder Künstler, Freunde und Familienmitglieder einlädt, Inhalte zu generieren und zu dem Magazin beizutragen.

Mit Blick auf die Ästhetik und die konzeptuellen Praktiken der 1960er und 1970er Jahre untersucht Iñaki Bonillas (* 1981) die Fotografie, das fotografische Medium und die Möglichkeiten der Konstruktion des Bildes. Für die erste Ausgabe von THE WORLD ACCORDING TO öffnet er für uns seine persönliche Bibliothek, von William Blake bis Roberto Juarroz und Georg Christian Lichtenberg.
