An exceptional report from the heart of the great military academies of Europe.
Between 2009 and 2013, photographer Paolo Verzone traveled across Europe to take portraits of cadets from the continent's largest military academies.
Long interested in the quest for a European identity, particularly present in his work “Seeuropeans” (portraits of Europeans on the beaches), Paolo Verzone met many of these young officers who are the symbol of an existing link between the traditions, the history of their schools, and the future they carry.
In each of these academies, Paolo Verzone managed to photograph them in strong, symbolic places that go well beyond simple national identity. A unique portrait of the elite of nations.
