Publisher Note

The present edition appears in the series “Performance Saga, Interviews 01–08”, which collects recordings of conversations with female pioneers of performance art and provides insight into their self-image and thinking.
Monika Günther likes the poverty of means and the power of the moment. She lets herself be guided by her intuition, by encounters and finds. The German artist came from painting to processual works and performance in 1982. Since then, she has repeatedly engaged herself anew in acting without a script in front of an audience – whether in solo performances or in joint performances with her long-time partner Ruedi Schill.
In a conversation among female artists, Monika Günther provides information about her work and talks about the conditions under which her work was created. A text booklet with a contribution by Helge Meyer completes this DVD edition.
