Landscape Stories, a contemporary photography magazine, presents the Adolescence a selection of 40 images by 28 international photographers, different in styles, techniques and sensibilities, the uncertainties, energy and dreams of the protagonists of adolescence emerge.
With adolescence, the child detaches himself from his family context and goes in search of his own independence and identity. A strong primal energy begins to move within. The change is impetuous and affects the physical aspect, the way of dressing, the music he listens to, the friends he chooses, the experiences he lives, the obsessions, passions and liturgies that follow, the way to deal with strong emotions in a manner personal. Until he is an adult, the adolescent will move in uncertain social boundaries where explorations and discoveries are still possible, the roles are not yet well defined and the sense of freedom is dangerously palpable.
The tension between action, destruction, hope and vision generates an extreme desire for emancipation, irreverence, energy and madness. A strange emotional fluctuation passes through a mysterious, indefinite and ever-changing sexual identity, which manifests itself in an unpredictable, elusive, elusive way. Mostly the object of nostalgia, denigration or envy, adolescence is confined to an atypical social limbo, whose protagonists are not fully taken into consideration as subjects of law. Adolescents and young people, on the other hand, are carefully studied and pampered by the consumer society as preferential and next models, omnivorous consumers.
