This publication has appeared in conjunction with the video installation “Mannschaft” by Till Velten at the exhibition “Rundlederwelten” in the Gropius-Bau Berlin and brings together eleven conversations with players of the German national women’s football team.
A wide variety of topics come together in a handy paperback – each with a picture of the interviewed player and her signature. Everyday life as well as political issues appear in the conversations. And, of course, it is all about the most important trivial thing in the world: football.
Till Velten is interested in people and what they do. What distinguishes them, or at least what people think distinguishes them. Velten collects information, conducts conversations and gradually gets deeper into the stories, becomes part of them, identifies himself, distances himself.
