In Proxemics Renato D’Agostin stretches the horizon between real and unreal where enigmatic, timeless figures chase each other in a visual carousel. With aesthetics evoking those of a film noir, D’Agostin presents a balancing act between daily life moments de-contextualizing them and bringing them into new captivating shapes of light and meaning. A thin line between intimacy and distance subtly connects all the images in Proxemics. Echoes of a distant silence, remote as difficult to achieve and to shape in a universe of intangible matter. In Remotanze, Italian poet Luigi Cerantola builds the distance from the common language as we know it, with a prose that unleashes the steady points that keep us in a safe mental and spatial place. ‘Because what remains to Man is finding identity in saving himself from what is imposed by the external world’.
As when at night you look at the sky searching for a star…and you find infinity.
