Publisher Note
Christoph Schreiber’s publication “Staub bauen” (Dust Building) is his most important book to date. “Staub bauen” provides a detailed overview of Schreiber’s work since 1994, presenting not only the most recent image manipulations but also numerous, in part older, installation works. An art historical text by Michael Rush and a conversation with the artist by Oliver Kielmayer round off the publication.
Christoph Schreiber works primarily with photographs, which he then processes further on the computer. Using the possibilities of digital technology, he processes images and transforms his motifs into surreal, dreamlike states. With his subtle manipulations, he repeatedly manages to astonish the viewer in the face of everyday situations.
In “Staub bauen”, the subtle design of Schreiber’s work can be experienced and opens up access to an extremely complex work.
