Exhibition

Exploitation of Natural Resources: Nuclear Energy and Power

Artphilein Library

Sep. 7th, 4pm – Oct. 4th 2024

Artphilein Library is pleased to announce its reopening at a new location with a new exhibition space, at Via San Salvatore 2. The event will take place on Saturday, September 7, at 4:00 PM, featuring an exhibition titled "Nuclear Energy and Power."
The exhibition showcases a selection of photography books addressing the theme of nuclear energy. The works are accompanied by evocative photographs by the renowned Japanese photographer Takashi Homma, taken from his artistic project Mushrooms From the Forest. Homma visited forests across three different continents in search of radioactive mushrooms. The mushrooms, collected in Scandinavia, Fukushima, Chernobyl, and Stone Island (USA), are photographed against a white background as if they were portraits.
During the inauguration, the public will have the opportunity to view the special Dossier created for the occasion, which includes the exhibited books, Takashi Homma's photographs, and a text curated by artist Danilo Correale, providing an in-depth look at the topic.

The event not only marks the opening of a new location for the Library but also serves as an important opportunity to reflect on issues of contemporary relevance.
